Questions and Answers for those seeking web design / development
Question: I am looking for a web developer, how can the WebDevForager help me?
The WebDevForager provides profiles of developers throughout the United Kingdom. You can view profiles of developers, their specialist skills and examples of work they have carried out for previous web design clients.
Question: What is the process when I submit a project?
When you submit a project, you outline what the project entails (this can be as detailed or as simple as you prefer) and you may also specify that developers be based in a specific region.
The project is then e-mailed to the WebDevForager team and we e-mail the project out to the developers. For instance, if you specify that you want to hire a developer based in Cheshire, then we only send the project to Cheshire developers.
Once the developers receive the project they may then contact you. You can specify the method of contact (i.e. email, telephone or both).
From this point on, the WebDevForager are out of the loop. it is up to you to proceed with whichever developer you prefer and deal with them directly.
Question: Do I have to select the developer after I have submitted a project?
There is no obligation to hire any of the developers responding to your project submission.
Question: What information is displayed on the website if I submit a project?
None of your contact details are displayed at all on the public website. The developers (when logged into the members' area) can view the details you specified when submitting the project. Some people only like to have their e-mail address visible to the developers.
Question: How much does it cost?
There is no charge for submitting web projects or using this website. You will of course have to pay the web developer should you agree to hire one to undertake your project. The WebDevForager is funded by a small annual fee payable by the web developers themselves.
Question: What if I have found a web designer/developer in the directory and would prefer to contact them directly?
By all means contact a developer directly. However, you may get additional ideas and costings should you submit a project that goes out to multiple developers.
